Service Learning at East Union- Contributions to the Community: Beginning with the class of 2016, each East Union student is to complete 50 hours of volunteer community service as a requirement for graduation. Service may begin the summer prior to a student’s freshmen year. Students who earn 100 hours or more of community service hours will be recognized with an ivory cord to be worn on their robes at the graduation ceremony. We are proud of the contributions that each East Union student will make to improve life for others!

ASPIRE Before and After School Program provides before and after school programming in a structured environment, integrating educational, recreational, and enrichment activities to students and their families. Each child’s uniqueness is recognized in terms of needs and potential. Efforts are made to provide a variety of activities, including academic support. Our goal is to reduce high risk behavior by students, to offer expanded learning opportunities for youth. Students in grades K-5 are all invited to participate. Please call 347-8777 to find out more about this special program!
The Early Childhood Center serves children ages 2 1/2 through 6, with the new Junior Kindergarten added in August 2012. The district provides a full day preschool program for children and the hours and days are flexible to meet the needs of both children and parents. Come visit our Center and see what the program has to offer children. We are excited to have been selected to become a Dekko Bloom School!
Elementary School Building Foundation Fund
In 2010, the East Union Elementary Building Foundation Fund was created with the hope of securing additional resources to ensure the continued growth and success of our district. If you are interested in making a donation to the Elementary Building Foundation Fund, a copy of the brochure is available to download- or you may call 641-347-5215. Please know that contributions of any size are greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your consideration.
Would You Like to Volunteer?
East Union is committed to providing the best education possible for our students. One of the ways we can do this comes through the services that volunteers give to our school. If you or someone you know wants to be of service to the school, please let us know. We can use parents, grandparents, friends, and neighbors in many and various capacities. We ask that anyone interested in volunteering complete the Volunteer Form and return it to the school. We will be in contact with you to set up assignments and times, once school begins. Thank you for your interest. We look forward to working with you.
East Union Student Learning Goals
Students at East Union will individually or cooperatively create technological, intellectual, artistic, and physical products that reflect high standards and originality; use information and resources to anticipate, assess and resolve problems and challenges of a changing society; be self-motivated and involved in learning experiences in order to meet new challenges with confidence and improve their quality of life in today’s society and the world of tomorrow; and demonstrate the qualities of volunteerism, trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness and caring by treating others fairly, justly, and impartially, regardless of differences.
Obtain your East Union Spirit gear! The best part is that the East Union Athletic department will earn a percentage of the online sales and it can be delivered right to your door! What a great time to add this opportunity.
